This is a key role within a busy conveyancing team, offering variety, responsibility, and the chance to work closely with experienced solicitors on both residential and commercial property matters.
The Role:
As a Senior Conveyancing Assistant, you\βll play a vital part in ensuring transactions run smoothly from instruction through to completion. You\βll provide high-level support to fee earners while also acting as a point of guidance for more junior team members.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to conveyancing solicitors
- Drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
- Managing Land Registry applications, SDLT submissions, and mortgage documentation
- Coordinating diaries, meetings, and client communications
- Maintaining accurate, compliant client files in line with regulatory requirements
- Handling billing processes and conveyancing-related financial transactions
- Supporting and mentoring junior secretaries where required
About You:
You\βll be confident, organised, and experienced in conveyancing, with the ability to manage a varied workload in a busy legal environment.
You\βll ideally have:
- At least 3 years\β experience as a Legal Secretary or Assistant within conveyancing
- Strong knowledge of both residential and commercial property transactions
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal case management systems
- Excellent typing skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities
- A proactive, professional approach with strong time-management skills
- Good understanding of AML, GDPR, and compliance standards
