Location: Sandy • Job Type: Permanent, Full Time • Salary: £16.00 - £18.00 p/h • Hours: Mon: 7.30am - 4pm, Tues: 7.30am - 4.30pm, Weds/Thurs: 7.30am - 5pm, Friday: 7.30am - 12pm

We are working with a market-leading manufacturer to recruit an experienced Control Panel Builder for their production team. This is a hands-on, workshop-based position building high-quality, custom control panels for complex machinery. The work is varied, low-volume, and requires precision craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Build and wire low-voltage control panels (#removed#V AC, single & three-phase; 24V DC)
  • Read and work from detailed electrical schematics, mechanical layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Install and terminate components such as relays, inverters, PLCs, HMIs, and circuit protection devices
  • Work on a range of panel types including MCCs, HMI enclosures, and multi-door cabinets
  • Fabricate and assemble components using hand and power tools
  • Carry out continuity testing and basic functional checks

Requirements

  • At least 4 years\' experience in electrical control panel building
  • Strong ability to interpret electrical schematics and layout drawings
  • Skilled in crimping, ferrule termination, wire routing, and safe working practices
  • Experience with both AC and DC control systems
  • A high level of attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Electrical qualifications or completed apprenticeship
  • Familiarity with EPLAN software
  • Experience in industrial automation or machinery manufacturing
  • Understanding of electrical testing and panel safety procedures
