Handyperson
Location: Shefford.
Occasionally will need to work on the Bedford site.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Temp to perm
Are you a practical, reliable individual with a passion for maintenance and repairs? We're looking for a skilled Handyperson to join our Facilities team and help ensure our sites remain safe, functional and well maintained.
Working alongside the Facilities Manager, you'll carry out a variety of maintenance tasks across our Clients sites, helping to create an environment that is welcoming, safe and fit for purpose for both colleagues and customers.
What you'll be doing
As our Clients Handyperson, you'll undertake a wide range of general maintenance duties, including:
- Basic plumbing repairs, including replacing taps and cisterns.
- Basic electrical repairs, including sockets and light fittings.
- Carpentry work, including repairing and replacing doors.
- Wall repairs, decorating and painting to a high standard.
- Maintaining equipment and appliances across both sites.
- Assisting with meeting room and event space set-up and remodelling.
- Carrying out scheduled health and safety inspections and compliance tasks.
- Helping maintain site cleanliness, waste management and PPE supplies.
- Supporting the Facilities Manager with day-to-day maintenance projects.
What we're looking for
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a maintenance, caretaker or handyperson role.
- The ability to carry out routine repairs independently.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to use your own initiative.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions (PPE provided).
- A full, valid UK driving licence.
