Location: Shefford. Occasionally will need to work on the Bedford site.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Temp to perm.
Are you a practical, reliable individual with a passion for maintenance and repairs? We're looking for a skilled Handyperson to join our Facilities team and help ensure our sites remain safe, functional and well maintained. Working alongside the Facilities Manager, you'll carry out a variety of maintenance tasks across our Clients' sites, helping to create an environment that is welcoming, safe and fit for purpose for both colleagues and customers.
What you'll be doing:
- Undertake a wide range of general maintenance duties, including:
- Basic plumbing repairs, including replacing taps and cisterns.
- Basic electrical repairs, including sockets and light fittings.
- Carpentry work, including repairing and replacing doors.
- Wall repairs, decorating and painting to a high standard.
- Maintaining equipment and appliances across both sites.
- Assisting with meeting room and event space set-up and remodelling.
- Carrying out scheduled health and safety inspections and compliance tasks.
- Helping maintain site cleanliness, waste management and PPE supplies.
- Supporting the Facilities Manager with day-to-day maintenance projects.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience in a maintenance, caretaker or handyperson role.
- The ability to carry out routine repairs independently.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to use your own initiative.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions (PPE provided).
- A full, valid UK driving licence.
