We are seeking a skilled Carpenter on behalf of our client, located north of Bedford. This is a hands-on role for an experienced professional looking to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will play a key part in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of doors (wood and steel) while ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Review & Preparation: Interpret technical drawings to determine the appropriate approach.
- Fabrication: Use power tools to cut and prepare timber and steel components.
- Assembly: Fit and hang doors into frames, install vision panels, hardware, hinges, locks, and fireproof materials.
- Manual Handling: Operate mechanical manual handling equipment to move doors and frames.
- Testing & Data Logging: Log production data using the SBD system for product planning visibility.
- Driving Tasks: Perform occasional driving tasks as required.
- Organisation: Maintain a tidy and organised work area.
- Additional Support: Assist with wrapping and dispatching doors and other duties related to the department's operations.
- Experience: Time-served carpenter with City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit due to the nature of the role.
- Driving Licence: Full and clean driving licence required.
- Skillset: Proficient with power tools, ability to read technical drawings, and experience in door fabrication/assembly.
