Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Graduate / Junior CAD Design Draughtsperson to join their team in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.
The Role
Using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, the successful candidate will assist in producing client general arrangement drawings and manufacturing drawings for factory production. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate, HNC/HND student, or junior CAD technician looking to develop a long-term career within a well-established and growing manufacturing engineering business. Full training, mentoring, and practical exposure to fabrication and production processes will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Prepare general arrangement and manufacturing drawings for production
- Interpret architectural drawings and site surveys
- Liaise with internal departments to support manufacturing requirements
- Ensure drawings are accurate and produced to required deadlines
- Support ongoing product and design development activities
Required Skills & Attributes
- Familiarity with 2D & 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
- Good understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing, and fabrication processes
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and site surveys
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines
- Positive and disciplined team player with a proactive attitude
- Willingness to learn and develop within a manufacturing engineering environment
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work
Remuneration & Benefits
- Competitive starting salary circa £28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience, plus overtime
