About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative / Forklift Driver to join our busy warehouse team. This is a hands-on role focused on supporting warehouse operations efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service, high safety standards, and accurate stock control. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched correctly while maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all stock is picked, stacked, maintained, and secured to company and client standards.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse.
- Support safe warehouse operations by adhering to all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
- Accurately complete tasks within required timeframes.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse, stock control, and management teams.
- Unload incoming stock within agreed turnaround times and complete quality checks.
- Record BBE details accurately and complete stock put-away procedures using RDT equipment where applicable.
- Ensure safe manual handling practices are followed at all times.
- Operate MHE equipment safely and only within authorised training levels.
- Maintain clean and organised marshalling and storage areas.
- Ensure goods are received and dispatched in good condition and orders are picked accurately.
- Complete all required paperwork and pallet accountability procedures.
- Attend operational meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Report damage, breakages, unsafe conditions, or dangerous occurrences promptly.
- Carry out daily safety checks on warehouse equipment and record information accurately.
- Wear and use all required protective equipment.
- Support a flexible working approach, including shift patterns and additional reasonable duties as required.
Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence from a recognised training provider.
- GCSE level education or equivalent.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS/Locate IT preferred).
- Experience using RDT scanners and barcode systems.
- Strong manual handling awareness.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organised and able to work to deadlines.
- Flexible, trustworthy, and approachable attitude.
