Ongoing Temp, Monday – Friday 37.5 hours, ASAP start

Our industry leading client, based in Bedford, is looking for a Van Driver / Stock Assistant on a full-time temporary basis. The main focus of the role will be to transport stock between sites in Bedford and to their client’s premises across the UK. You will also help to prepare the stock ready for transportation.

Applicants will need to hold a full and clean driving licence and have experience in driving a high side, long wheelbase van. Also, you will need to comply with the company’s security vetting process due to the nature of their business.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare product required by clients and arrange transport of stock, including completion of necessary regulatory paperwork, as required.
  • Adhere to company Health and Safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Using company vehicle to transport stock between their Bedford site and other premises, in both routine and after hours (time in lieu).
  • To perform all duties in a professional manner at all times, including wearing appropriate safety/work apparel as supplied.

You must be comfortable in:

  • Manual handling
  • Safe use of chemicals
  • Driving

Requirements:

  • Ideally hold a valid DBS certificate
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Experience of driving high-sided vehicles in a commercial setting.
  • Good time management skills, attention to detail and ability to cope under pressure.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, seeking advice where necessary.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
