Overview
Weβre looking for a Compliance Assurance Manager to join 1st Central. This role owns the Compliance Assurance Plan and shapes how it is delivered across the Group. You will lead a team, work with senior leaders, and ensure regulatory obligations are met while adding value to the business. The ideal candidate can step in from day one and deliver results.
Location and working pattern
Governance team locations include Haywards Heath (West Sussex), Salford Quays (Manchester), Gibraltar, and Guernsey. Most team members work from home, with in-person collaboration about once a month. We are open to remote working, provided you reside in, or are willing to relocate to, England, UK, and can join in person monthly to stay connected.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Compliance Assurance Plan across the Group and ensure timely delivery and quality of assurance activities.
- Manage and develop a team of monitoring officers, fostering a high-performance environment.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to present findings, influence decisions, and drive regulatory compliance improvements.
- Maintains knowledge of the regulatory environment in general insurance services and applies it to the business context.
Qualifications and experience
- Insurance sector knowledge with experience of the regulatory environment in general insurance services.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills; able to secure buy-in from senior leaders.
- Leadership and people development experience; ability to coach and develop a team of monitoring officers.
- Proven 2nd or 3rd line compliance/assurance expertise with ownership of a complex plan.
