PR Manager role

The Public Relations Manager role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the public relations strategy.

This role has two main work streams:

  • Developing and implementing a PR strategy for the brand.
  • Planning and executing a wide range of events, from seminars and digital events to social gatherings and marketing initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with the team to ensure all events and PR activities align with the strategic objectives.

Main Duties and responsibilities of the PR Manager

Public Relations

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive PR strategy to enhance visibility and reputation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media contacts, including journalists, editors, and industry publications.
  • Write and distribute press releases, articles, and other PR materials to promote achievements, events, and news.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities for proactive PR initiatives.
  • Manage crisis communication and act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries.

Minor part of the role

  • Support media-facing or brand-building events such as press briefings, panel discussions and our annual conference.
  • Provide PR support for flagship internal or external events, ensuring media opportunities are maximised.

The Ideal candidate for the PR Manager role

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with an eye for compelling stories.
  • Proven experience in public relations, preferably within a professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with journalists and editors.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Creative, proactive, and results-driven, with a genuine interest in news and current affairs.

Also desirable are:

  • Degree in communications, PR, journalism, or related field.
  • Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM for tracking PR activity and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Canva or similar tools for light design and media assets.
  • Understanding of SEO and digital PR principles
