Indoor Cycle Instructor - Twickenham, London Location: TW2 Health and Fitness Club, Twickenham Employment Type: Freelance Job Summary The Indoor Cycle Instructor leads high energy, motivating indoor cycling sessions for members of all fitness levels. This role requires creating an engaging, safe, and inclusive workout environment using dynamic music playlists, structured cadence, and varying resistance profiles to help members achieve their cardiovascular and fitness goals. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high quality indoor cycling classes ranging from rhythm based rides to performance metrics and interval sessions. Set up the studio equipment, ensure all stationary bikes are functioning correctly, and assist members with proper bike setup and posture before class. Create motivating music playlists and structure workouts around specific cadences, resistance levels, and terrain simulations. Provide clear coaching cues, modifications, and regressions to accommodate beginners as well as advanced cyclists. Monitor participant form throughout the session to prevent injuries and promote safe cycling mechanics. Maintain a clean, organized studio space before and after each session. Act as a positive ambassador for the health club, building rapport with members to support member retention. Adhere to health club health and safety standards, emergency protocols, and reporting procedures. Required Qualifications and Certifications Level 2 Fitness Instructor or Level 2 Exercise to Music qualification recognised in the UK. Certified Group Studio Cycling CPD qualification accredited by Active IQ, YMCA, or Schwinn. Active CIMSPA membership or professional indemnity insurance preferred. Public Liability Insurance Key Skills and Attributes High energy, enthusiasm, and a strong capability to motivate groups. Excellent verbal communication and coaching skills. Strong sense of rhythm, musicality, and playlist curation abilities. Punctual, reliable, and adaptable in professional health club environments. Passion for promoting health, wellbeing, and community engagement.
