1inch is seeking a Head of DevOps to spearhead our infrastructure and platform engineering department. This is a pivotal leadership position where you will transform traditional infrastructure support into a world-class platform engineering function. You will lead a dedicated team of engineers to build resilient, multi-cloud environments that empower our developers to deploy and manage services independently. By balancing strategic vision with technical rigour, you will ensure our global decentralised systems remain secure, scalable, and exceptionally reliable.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a DevOps strategy that aligns infrastructure growth with 1inch’s business objectives.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team while fostering a culture of automation and accountability.
- Infrastructure as Code: Oversee multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters and ensure all environmental changes are managed via automated IaC and GitOps.
- Developer Enablement: Standardise deployment processes and build self-service tools for secrets management and infrastructure provisioning.
- Service Reliability: Define and implement SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to ensure the stability and performance of critical services.
- Observability & Incident Management: Oversee the full monitoring stack and establish formal incident response and post-mortem processes.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce 'security by design' and maintain strict adherence to ISO 27001 and SOC 2 regulatory frameworks.
- Cost & Efficiency: Lead infrastructure consolidation initiatives and monitor cloud expenditure to identify strategic cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements:
- Leadership Experience: 8+ years in DevOps/Infrastructure with 3+ years in a management role.
- Proven Track Record: Experience scaling DevOps teams in fast-paced, high-growth tech environments.
- Kubernetes Expertise: Deep knowledge of cluster management, networking, and security.
- Automation Mastery: Extensive experience with Terraform (IaC) and GitOps practices.
- Cloud Architecture: Proficiency in managing multi-cloud environments (AWS, Hetzner, GCP).
- Technical Depth: Strong understanding of service mesh and microservices architecture.
- Observability: Solid experience with observability tools for metrics, logging, and tracing.
- Security Mindset: Practical experience implementing security best practices within CI/CD.
- Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic Mindset: Balanced approach between long-term strategy and hands-on problem-solving.
