1GLOBAL’s Wholesale team is a fundamental enabler for the 1GLOBAL business, and this is a critical, high-profile role at the heart of Wholesale’s carrier and interconnect activities. The Wholesale team is responsible for establishing and managing 1GLOBAL’s relationships with mobile operators, aggregators, and numbering partners that underpin our global voice and messaging traffic. The Carrier Manager will own the commercial and operational relationships across Voice, SMS, and Numbering/MNP, ensuring 1GLOBAL has the most effective and profitable carrier structure in place to meet the future requirements of the business.

About the Role:
- Managing outbound voice traffic costs and routing across our carrier base, continuously optimizing for quality, coverage, and margin.
- Owning inbound voice revenue relationships with carrier partners to maximize termination revenue across all routes.
- Managing outbound and inbound SMS traffic across both P2P and A2P channels, including cost, revenue, partner, and aggregator management.
- Owning relationships with numbering partners, and the implementation and ongoing management of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) agreements.
- Owning MNP as a discipline across the business, including regulatory compliance, porting performance, and cross-functional coordination with product, legal, and network teams.
- Negotiating all carrier, aggregator, and numbering partner agreements/addendums, including commercial terms, SLAs, and technical requirements.
- Owning operational performance against contract across voice, SMS, and numbering partners, including service level measures, escalations, and change requests.
About You:
Must Have:
- Good experience in carrier relations / mobile wholesale (ideally voice interconnect, SMS aggregation, or numbering/MNP).
- Strong understanding of the telecom carrier ecosystem, including voice routing, SMS messaging (P2P/A2P), and numbering/porting processes.
- Excellent commercial skills and a strong analytical ability, particularly around cost, margin, and revenue optimization.
- Excellent communicator; highly organised; forthright; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Driven, energetic, and resilient, able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically and translate strategic thinking into solid deliverables and plans.
- Able to form strong relationships both with carrier, aggregator, and numbering partners and internal stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- A solid base of industry contacts across carriers, aggregators, and numbering partners.
- Experience negotiating voice interconnect, SMS aggregation, or numbering agreements.
- Knowledge of MNP regulatory frameworks and porting processes across relevant markets (Ofcom, FCC, national regulators).
- Familiarity with SMS firewall/filtering technology and A2P monetization models.
- Experience with least-cost routing (LCR) platforms and traffic/cost management tools.
