Opportunity: An experienced SAP HCM Payroll Support Consultant is needed to join our UK and Ireland Support Services team. You will provide critical AMS support to our valued payroll customers in the UK and Ireland as part of the SAP Professional Services practice and act as the lead for the UKI Payroll AMS team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide application support to payroll customers through advice, guidance, and appropriate technical activities.
- Manage incidents, requests and changes from external customers using the ServiceNow tool in a timely and accurate manner, using ITIL principles.
- Provide functional analysis and guidance on UKI payroll processing queries.
- Act as the lead for the UKI Payroll AMS team, mentor junior colleagues, chair daily standup calls and advise on planning and knowledge transfer activities.
- Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for one or more customers, providing in‑depth knowledge of their setup and payroll processing cycles.
- Ensure client documentation is updated to reflect changes made to their systems.
- Manage change requests (typically less than 20 days) from requirements gathering to estimation, unit testing and deployment, delivering high‑quality solutions that meet business requirements.
- Provide updates on status and progress to the SAP Support Lead via daily standup calls, flag blockers and share information with the wider team.
- Join customer‑facing issues calls to provide updates on incidents logged with the team.
- Use analytical skills to identify and resolve defects, ensuring customer satisfaction with the resolution.
- Resolve complex defects related to overtime, social security calculation, legal reporting, allowances, sickness, taxes, posting, payslips, RTI and other UK specific payroll areas.
- Work according to Strada best practices around change and release management.
- Manage the testing and implementation of SAP patches including HRSP and CLC updates.
- Support End‑of‑Year/Start‑of‑Year processes alongside the customer’s payroll team.
Requirements:
- Hands‑on experience of UKI Payroll – schemas, PCRs, wage type creation, basic pay configuration.
- Proven experience working with SAP Payroll systems (SuccessFactors ECP is a plus) providing maintenance, troubleshooting, configuration and support.
- Ability to prioritise work across multiple clients to meet deadlines and contractual SLA targets.
- Strong communication skills to update customers using business rather than technical language.
- In‑depth knowledge of payroll processes, systems and UKI legislation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with great attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility around working hours if required due to critical payroll issues or escalations.
- Systems implementation experience is not mandatory but would be beneficial.
- Appetite to become a subject‑matter expert on SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) modules.
