A respected children’s residential care provider is looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a therapeutic children’s home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader with experience managing children’s residential services and maintaining high standards of safeguarding, compliance and care quality.
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per year
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operational management of the children’s residential service
- Maintain Ofsted compliance and uphold Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Promote a safe, therapeutic and child-centred environment
- Manage and support Deputy Managers, Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers
- Oversee safeguarding, risk management and care planning processes
- Ensure children and young people receive high-quality emotional and behavioural support
- Lead staff supervision, recruitment, performance management and development
- Work closely with external agencies, local authorities and healthcare professionals
- Manage budgets, staffing levels and service resources effectively
- Participate in on-call duties where required
- Drive continuous improvement and support positive inspection outcomes
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ recent experience managing children’s residential services
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Eligible to register with Ofsted or already registered
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted standards and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Experience supporting children with emotional, behavioural or complex trauma needs
- Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills
- Experience managing teams within residential childcare settings
- Able to work flexibly to meet service needs
- Right to work in the UK
