Our client is currently recruiting an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter to join their team in Crawley.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair vehicles to DVSA and manufacturer standards
- Carry out inspections, servicing, MOT preparation, and complete service documentation
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and improve fleet reliability
- Diagnose faults using advanced diagnostic equipment, including auto-electrical systems
- Work on HGVs, LCVs, trailers and PSVs
- Attend roadside breakdowns using a company-provided breakdown van
Experience & Requirements:
- Apprenticeship trained with City & Guilds HGV Parts 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience servicing, repairing and fault-finding on commercial vehicles
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body electrics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- HGV Mechanic / Technician / Fitter experience required
- Experience within the waste management sector advantageous
- LGV Class C / HGV Class 2 licence desirable but not essential
- Ability to work independently, safely and competently in a physically demanding role
- Reliable, proactive and committed to delivering high standards of workmanship
