A respected children’s residential care provider is looking for an experienced Team Leader to support the daily running of a therapeutic residential home for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader looking to progress within children’s residential care.

Location: Ascot

Salary: £17.07 – £17.50 per hour depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate shifts within the children’s residential home
  • Supervise and support Residential Support Workers
  • Promote a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment
  • Support children and young people with emotional, behavioural and trauma-related needs
  • Maintain accurate care records, daily logs and incident reports
  • Support care planning, risk assessments and behavioural support strategies
  • Promote safeguarding and report concerns in line with procedures
  • Liaise with social workers, therapists and education providers
  • Administer and record medication in line with policies
  • Assist with rota planning and shift cover
  • Participate in the on-call rota and respond to incidents where required
  • Act as lead staff member during manager absences when necessary

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within residential childcare
  • At least 1 year in a senior or shift-leading role
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Experience supporting children with emotional, behavioural or trauma-related needs
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Comfortable working varied shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour appropriately
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • Right to work in the UK
