Donia is a modern Filipino restaurant located on the top floor of Kingly Court, Soho, reinterpreting Filipino flavours through seasonal British ingredients and contemporary culinary techniques. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to support the smooth running of the kitchen. This role is essential in maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency, allowing the kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards during service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning & Maintenance
- Wash and sanitise all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Ensure all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, and storage spaces, are kept clean and organised.
- Follow cleaning schedules and maintain high standards of hygiene at all times.
- Waste Management
- Dispose of waste correctly and maintain clean bin areas.
- Assist with recycling and ensure waste is managed in line with health and safety regulations.
- Kitchen Support
- Assist chefs with basic preparation tasks when required (e.g. peeling, chopping, or organising ingredients).
- Transport ingredients and equipment between kitchen sections as needed.
- Help maintain an efficient flow of clean equipment during service.
- Stock & Deliveries
- Assist with receiving deliveries and storing items correctly.
- Ensure proper organisation and rotation of stock in storage areas.
- Health & Safety Compliance
- Follow all food hygiene and health & safety regulations in line with UK standards.
- Report any hazards, breakages, or equipment issues to senior kitchen staff.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good organisational skills and attention to cleanliness.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support the team.
- Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for long periods.
