Position Summary
The Country Ambassador will act as the primary representative for the consortium in assigned country markets. The role focuses on business development, partnership cultivation, strategic growth initiatives, market intelligence, stakeholder engagement, and representing the consortium’s interests internationally. This is a London-based role with global remit, requiring frequent international travel (as needed), strategic thinking, cross-cultural fluency, and business acumen across diverse markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Development & Strategy: Lead country-specific business development strategies and execution plans. Analyze market trends, opportunities, risks, regulatory environments, and competitive landscapes. Provide insights and intelligence to central strategy teams in London.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, business leaders, investors, NGOs, and diplomatic missions. Act as the primary liaison between the consortium and external partners in each assigned country.
- Partnership & Alliances: Identify, originate and secure strategic partnerships (public and private sector). Negotiate MOUs, commercial agreements, and collaboration frameworks. Work with internal legal and commercial teams to finalize agreements.
- Representation & Advocacy: Represent the consortium at international forums, conferences, and bilateral meetings. Advocate for consortium objectives and opportunities in target markets.
- Reporting & Coordination: Provide regular reports to the London office on market status, pipeline development, risks, and achievements. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (marketing, finance, legal, operations) to implement country-level initiatives.
- Business Growth & Targets: Drive revenue and growth targets set for each country portfolio. Develop business cases and proposals for new engagements and ventures.
- Cultural & Ethical Leadership: Promote ethical conduct, inclusive business practice, and cultural respect in all engagements. Ensure compliance with internal policies and local regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Relations, Economics or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of international business development, diplomatic, or country management experience.
- Proven track record in cross-border partnerships and negotiations.
- Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Strong cultural intelligence and adaptability.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
