A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a talented, hands-on, and adaptable Private Chef with strong expertise in Eastern European cuisine to join a fully staffed household in Central London, cooking for a family of four. The family is specifically seeking a chef with proven experience preparing authentic and refined Eastern European dishes, with the ability to balance traditional recipes alongside lighter, modern interpretations.

The ideal candidate will be calm under pressure, organised, and collaborative, with a genuine team-player attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional Eastern European cuisine to the highest standards. A strong understanding of regional ingredients, flavour profiles, and traditional preparation techniques is essential.

The Chef will be responsible for preparing lunch and dinner daily for the family alongside a Head Chef, creating balanced, seasonal menus rooted primarily in Eastern European cuisine that reflect the family's tastes and preferences. You will also occasionally assist the wider team of chefs with meal preparation for the household team of 12-14 staff, ensuring that all meals are produced to the same consistent quality. This is a role for a Chef who enjoys working in a professional, respectful environment, maintaining the smooth operation of a busy private kitchen within a supportive household team.

Working hours will be varied. 10 days in the month, an early 4 am start will be needed to accommodate breakfast, working 5 days on with 2 days off on a rota basis. Flexibility to work weekends when required is essential, as well as working early shifts when needed. The family is seeking a chef with private experience cooking within a UHNW household for a family with children. This position is to start immediately.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Preparing daily lunch and dinner for the family to a consistently high standard, with a strong focus on Eastern European cuisine
  • Creating both traditional and contemporary Eastern European menus tailored to the family's preferences
  • Working as part of a team of chefs and taking guidance when required
  • Menu planning in line with the family's tastes, dietary requirements, and seasonal availability
  • Sourcing and ordering high-quality, authentic, and seasonal ingredients
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen at all times
  • Working collaboratively with other household staff and communicating effectively with the House Manager
  • Ensuring smooth kitchen operations and efficient time management

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Private Chef within a high-end or UHNW household
  • Demonstrable expertise and strong professional experience in Eastern European cuisine
  • Confident preparing authentic regional dishes as well as refined, modern interpretations
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and calm under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent team-player with a positive and professional attitude
  • Strict adherence to hygiene and food safety standards
  • Based in London with the right to live and work in the UK
  • Proven longevity in previous roles
