We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and discreet Legal Personal Assistant to support the Managing Partner of a well-established boutique law firm based in Holborn. Known for its high-profile international work, the firm advises clients across South Asia, the Middle East, South America, and Africa, and values unique thinking, a creative approach to problem-solving, and above all, positivity and respect. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected legal team in a varied and fast-paced support role.
You will act as the Managing Partner’s key support, while also assisting the wider legal team and Practice Manager with a range of operational and administrative tasks. Working within a close-knit and friendly international team, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a smaller firm environment, and is confident in juggling multiple priorities.
The ideal candidate will remain calm under pressure, be solutions-focused, and take pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in busy legal settings are essential.
This is a full-time, permanent position with working hours from 9:00/9:30am to 5:30/6:00pm, Monday to Friday. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with one day working from home each week. In addition to a competitive salary, the position includes a generous benefits package, comprising 25 days of annual leave and private medical cover.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Provide full PA support to the Managing Partner, including proactive diary management and planning around legal and BD commitments
• Assist with business development activities, including maintaining contact lists, tracking associations, and helping with event preparation
• Manage incoming new client enquiries and follow-up communication
• Open client files and collate compliance documentation using the firm’s CMS
• Liaise with the finance team and legal team to support billing processes
• Maintain and update the firm’s central contact database
• Liaise with external marketing providers regarding the firm’s website, social media, articles, and events
• Provide ad hoc support to the legal team (e.g. formatting documents, assisting paralegals with bundles)
• Provide holiday cover for the PA to the Senior Partner
• Collaborate with the Office Coordinator to ensure smooth front-of-house operations (phones, doors, client greetings)
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a PA within a busy law firm (small or medium-sized firm experience preferred)
• Proven involvement in billing and/or marketing-related tasks
• Strong tenure in previous roles, showing reliability and commitment
• Legal secretarial skills and experience supporting legal professionals
• Confident, polished, and well-presented with excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness
• Experience working with HNW and commercial clients, particularly from the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa (preferred)
• Right to work in the UK
• Strong, verifiable references
