URGENT TEMPORARY PRIVATE CHEF REQUIRED FOR BEAUTIFUL ESTATE IN BERKSHIRE

Location: Berkshire (approximately 20 minutes from Reading)

Salary: Competitive daily or weekly rate, DOE

Contract: Temporary (June 2026)

Status: Live-in or Live-out

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced and adaptable Private Chef to support a lovely family on a beautiful private estate in Berkshire throughout the month of June. This temporary position would suit a confident all-rounder chef who enjoys cooking fresh, nutritious meals in a relaxed family environment and is comfortable working independently. This position is to start immediately.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner for between two and four family members
  • Ensuring meals are tailored to the family's preferences and prepared to a consistently high standard
  • Managing all aspects of the kitchen independently, from menu planning and shopping through to food preparation and kitchen upkeep

This is a varied role that would suit a chef with previous private households or yachting experience. The family are informal, welcoming, and looking for someone who can integrate seamlessly into the household for the duration of the contract. Accommodation can be provided on the estate if required; however, preference may be given to candidates who are based locally or within a reasonable commuting distance of the Reading/Berkshire area.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Preparing daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the family
  • Creating varied, seasonal, and nutritious menus
  • Managing grocery shopping and sourcing high-quality ingredients
  • Catering to the family's dietary preferences and requirements
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-stocked kitchen
  • Managing food storage and kitchen inventory
  • Ensuring excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
  • Liaising with the family regarding menus and meal preferences

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Previous experience as a Private Chef
  • Ability to confidently prepare a wide range of cuisines and family-style meals
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Professional, discreet, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen management
  • Fluent English and right to work in the UK
  • Available for the full month of June
  • Excellent checkable references
  • Up to date DBS check
