A fabulous opportunity has arisen for an experienced Personal Assistant to provide dedicated business and personal support to a senior executive in the academic world. This is a varied, hands‑on position combining approximately 60% business support with 40% personal assistance, requiring someone who can move seamlessly between professional responsibilities and private arrangements.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive and discreet, with the initiative to anticipate requirements, manage competing priorities and ensure that both the executive's working life and personal affairs run smoothly. This role would suit a capable, switched‑on PA who takes ownership, uses sound judgement and enjoys being the person who keeps everything on track.
Dependable, sharp and highly capable, with a natural instinct for organisation and an understanding of what effective support looks like, you will be confident dealing with people at different levels and equally happy managing business correspondence or arranging practical household matters. Working on site from the principal's home in Central London, the role is Monday to Friday, with some ad‑hoc out of hours availability expected.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Manage a busy and evolving diary, coordinating meetings, appointments, travel arrangements and commitments, while anticipating scheduling conflicts and prioritising competing demands
- Oversee inbox management, correspondence and communications, drafting responses where appropriate and ensuring important matters receive timely attention
- Coordinate meetings and appointments, preparing relevant documentation, arranging logistics and following up on outstanding actions
- Organise travel, including transport, accommodation, itineraries and associated arrangements
- Manage personal appointments, errands and day‑to‑day requirements, including dry cleaning, household deliveries and other practical arrangements
- Coordinate household maintenance and tradespeople, arranging access, monitoring outstanding work and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently
- Oversee household administration, including monitoring bills, arranging payments as authorised, maintaining records and ensuring deadlines are met
- Act as a reliable point of contact for professional and personal matters, liaising with colleagues, suppliers, service providers and other contacts with discretion and professionalism
- Identify what needs to be done without waiting for instructions, keeping track of outstanding tasks and ensuring the executive is well prepared for upcoming commitments
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in a Personal Assistant or comparable support role, ideally involving a combination of professional and personal responsibilities
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain oversight of a busy schedule

- A high level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential business information and private personal matters
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate needs, follow through on tasks and ensure nothing is overlooked
- Comfortable using standard office software, email, calendars and digital tools to manage information and day‑to‑day administration
