EXPERIENCED HOUSEKEEPER REQUIRED FOR IMPRESSIVE PRIVATE ESTATE IN BURY ST EDMUND
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housekeeper to join the team at a substantial private residence in Bury St Edmunds. This is the family's secondary home, which they typically use for approximately six weeks throughout the year, including over the Christmas and New Year period.
Working alongside another Housekeeper and a wider team of household staff, the successful candidate will help maintain this very large property to consistently high standards, ensuring it is beautifully presented and ready for the family's arrival at all times. Given the size of the residence, the family are looking for someone who is hands‑on, organised and comfortable working collaboratively while also taking ownership of their individual responsibilities.
The position is varied and combines detailed housekeeping with laundry, wardrobe management and front‑of‑house support. The family are not looking for someone overly formal when it comes to service; instead, they would like a confident and personable Housekeeper who is comfortable assisting with guests and providing relaxed front‑of‑house service when the family are in residence.
As the property is only occupied by the family for part of the year, the family would also be very open to someone who is happy to assist with general household administration and a small amount of ad‑hoc PA support during quieter periods. This may include helping with household records, coordinating deliveries and appointments, liaising with suppliers or contractors and assisting with general organisation. Strong administrative skills would therefore be a welcome addition, although the position remains primarily focused on housekeeping.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm. Flexibility to work weekends will be required when the family are in residence, particularly during periods such as Christmas and New Year.
