Here at 18 Week Support, we have an exciting opportunity to support a well‑established NHS Trust in the South West area within a busy Urology service.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced theatre and recovery teams in a well‑supported, patient‑focused environment while benefiting from flexible additional sessions.
Key Responsibilities Collect used surgical instruments and medical devices from clinical areas.
Clean and decontaminate equipment using manual and automated processes.
Inspect instruments for cleanliness, damage, and functionality.
Assemble and package surgical instrument sets according to specifications.
Sterilise instruments using steam sterilisers (autoclaves) or other approved methods.
Label and track instrument sets using barcode or traceability systems.
Store sterile equipment correctly and distribute it to operating theatres, wards, and clinics.
Maintain accurate records to comply with quality standards and regulations.
Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
Report damaged equipment and arrange repairs or replacement when necessary.
Requirements Registered with valid HCPC registration.
Current experience working within a surgical setting for a minimum of 6 months within the last 12 months.
Proven NHS experience.
Experience working within surgical wards or theatre environments is desirable.
Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
