We are currently seeking experienced Oral & Maxillofacial nurse to support weekend insourcing clinics in Southampton, helping deliver NHS waiting list initiatives across:
- Patient care pathways
- Cancer pathways
- Anaesthetic procedures, biopsies, and minor plastic or facial surgeries
This is an excellent opportunity to join experienced teams delivering high-quality patient care throughout all stages of the perioperative pathway.
Requirements
- Be currently working within an NHS trust in an Oral & Maxillofacial service – In outpatients
- Have recent, hands‑on experience supporting patients within:
- Biopsies
- Have been actively undertaking this work for at least 6 months within the past 12 months
You will also have
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification
- Active registration as a Registered Nurse (NMC) or Dental Nurse (GDC)
- Recent post‑registration experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery or on surgical wards
Responsibilities include supporting with
- Preparing patients for clinics, providing support to anxious patients
- Delivering sensitive pre‑ and post‑operative education (such as oral hygiene and cancer care)
- Clinic and treatment room preparation
- Assisting clinicians to ensure safe and efficient patient care delivery
