About the Role

18 Week Support are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to support our Endoscopy clinics across Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality patient care throughout the endoscopy pathway. As an Endoscopy HCA, you will play a vital role in supporting patients before, during, and after diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. You will work closely with our Endoscopists, Nurses, and Decontamination staff to ensure a safe, efficient experience for all patients attending the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support patients throughout their endoscopy journey, providing reassurance and excellent care.
  • Assist clinical staff during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
  • Prepare clinical rooms and equipment for procedures.
  • Monitor and record basic patient observations.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and patient safety.
  • Assist with patient admissions, recoveries, and discharges.
  • Support stock management and equipment checks within the department.
  • Ensure patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

About You

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Must have at least 6 months Endoscopy experience
  • Previous experience within the NHS is essential
  • Strong understanding of endoscopy procedures and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and committed to delivering safe, effective care
