Job Title: Anaesthetist (Orthopaedic & Spinal Surgery)
Job Summary:
The Anaesthetist provides safe and effective anaesthetic care for patients undergoing orthopaedic and spinal procedures. They assess patients preoperatively, administer anaesthesia, monitor intraoperative status, and manage postoperative recovery and pain control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct preoperative assessments and develop individualized anaesthetic plans.
- Administer general, regional, or spinal anaesthesia for orthopaedic and spinal surgeries.
- Monitor patientsโ vital signs and physiological responses during surgery.
- Manage airway, ventilation, and hemodynamic stability throughout procedures.
- Provide postoperative pain management and monitor recovery from anaesthesia.
- Respond promptly to anaesthetic or surgical emergencies.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and recovery staff to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialist training in Anaesthesiology.
- Board-certified or registered Anaesthetist.
- Experience in orthopaedic and spinal anaesthesia (including regional and neuraxial blocks).
- Current ACLS and BLS certification.
