Sussex Community Dermatology Services (SCDS) are one of the largest independent providers of NHS dermatology services in the UK. We are seeking ambitious Consultant Dermatologists to work with us in the South-East of England. You will be joining a team of 23 consultants providing expert care in the diagnosis and management of dermatological conditions, including inflammatory skin diseases, skin cancer, and complex dermatological cases.

We are passionate about providing the best service whilst working together as part of a close-knit team to tackle the NHS's waiting lists. This is an exciting opportunity for you to be rewarded on a pay by patient model, for the work you complete.

Main duties of the job:
  • Running regular clinics throughout the week
  • To work with colleagues to deliver high quality care to patients referred from Primary and Secondary care for outpatient assessment, within an outpatient setting
  • Assess and manage a wide range of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer and inflammatory diseases
  • Participate in MDTs and support junior clinicians as part of a collaborative team

About us: Sussex Community Dermatology Service (SCDS) and Kent Integrated Dermatology Services (KIDS) aim to triage a range of dermatoses effectively into clinics to enable a see and treat approach during the patients' initial appointment, reducing the need for multiple follow-ups. The services work alongside an experienced nurse prescribing team, comprising independent nurse prescribers qualified to manage patients on systemic and biologic therapies. Clinical offerings include day surgery, minor operations, dermoscopy, patch testing, photodynamic therapy, and phototherapy. The focus remains firmly on meeting patients' needs and preferences, with their wellbeing placed at the heart of all decision-making.

We work with NHS trusts and integrated care boards to deliver over 100,000 new patient consultations annually including the full cancer pathway, biologics and subspecialities. We are a GMC recognised designated body for revalidation and provide annual appraisals for our consultants as part of this process.

Job responsibilities:

We staff various clinics across the Sussex region including general dermatology, 2 week wait pathways and minor operations.

Why work with SCDS?
  • Various clinic locations across Sussex
  • Regular work around your availability
  • Pay-per patient model
  • Supportive environment and being part of the team

If you are interested, or would like some further information, please get in touch with Olivia Turner or forward your CV to Oturner@18weeksupport.com.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working at Consultant Level within the NHS
  • Right to work in the UK
  • GMC Specialist Registration
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
