Are you a skilled HGV Class 2 / Class C Driver with a hands-on attitude and a willingness to get stuck in? We're recruiting on behalf of our client for a Tanker Driver to join a growing team delivering specialist wastewater and environmental services. This is a hands-on role that combines HGV driving with operational site work. The successful candidate will be willing to learn, work as part of a team, and get involved in all aspects of the job rather than just driving the vehicle.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Driving and operating tankers and HGVs to support customer disposal requirements
- Working as part of a team on major cleaning and maintenance projects across wastewater assets
- Learning to operate vacuum tankers (vactors), booms and other specialist equipment, this is not just a driving role. We're looking for someone who is happy to get involved on-site and develop new operational skills.
- Working on large tanks, wet wells, siphons and other wastewater infrastructure
- Carrying out manual handling duties, including handling suction hoses, removing debris and assisting with site clean-up
- Completing digital site reports, vehicle inspections and associated documentation
- Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of vehicles, plant and specialist equipment to ensure the highest standards are maintained
- Working safely in a variety of environments and conditions
- Participating in the on-call rota when required
What we're looking for:
- Full UK Class C (HGV Class 2) Licence – Essential
- Strong work ethic and positive, can-do attitude, must be willing to have Training & Development
- Willingness to work away from home on a regular basis most weeks (Mon to Fri)
This role involves regular working away, typically Monday to Friday. Hotel accommodation and Breakfast provided, plus £50 per night subsistence payment (£200 for a standard working week away). Additional incentive payments available for those committed to consecutive weeks away.
Right to work in the UK. Drainage or wastewater experience is advantageous but not essential.
