We're seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in construction and social housing to join our client's growing London team. You'll play a pivotal role in securing new work, shaping bid strategy, and ensuring accurate, commercially sound cost planning across a diverse portfolio of refurbishment and new‑build housing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Planning – Produce detailed cost estimates for social housing and construction schemes from early feasibility through to final tender.
- Tender Management – Lead the preparation, submission, and negotiation of competitive tenders.
- Risk Analysis – Identify project risks, opportunities, and value‑engineering options.
- Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with project managers, QS teams, designers, and supply chain partners.
- Market Intelligence – Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of London construction costs, supply chain conditions, and social housing frameworks.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within social housing, refurbishment, or main contracting.
- Strong understanding of London‑based construction markets and frameworks (e.g., D&B, JCT).
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and client requirements with precision.
- Excellent commercial judgement and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software and digital take‑off tools.
- A proactive, analytical mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions and drive value.
