We’re recruiting a Building Surveyor to join our clients Complex Repairs & Maintenance team in Manchester, a role packed with variety, responsibility and the chance to influence long-term investment decisions across our portfolio. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving complex building challenges, this is the role for you. You’ll be the go-to expert for technical advice, property condition assessments and bespoke project delivery, providing expert technical advice and detailed property evaluations across our diverse housing stock. Your work will support investment planning, regeneration decisions and the long-term sustainability of our assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to stock sustainability and regeneration appraisals
- Develop and project-manage bespoke investment and refurbishment projects
- Undertake high-quality dilapidation and diagnostic surveys
- Validate investment needs in line with the Asset Management Strategy
- Support investment planning and specification development
- Ensure health & safety compliance, including CDM responsibilities
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of building construction, standards, planning and regulatory requirements (including Awaab’s Law)
- Commercial awareness and experience delivering value-for-money investment programmes
- Understanding of construction specifications, contracts and financial evaluation
- Experience acting as Principal Designer under CDM
- Ability to work autonomously and manage stakeholder relationships
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car
Desirable:
- Experience managing similar projects
- IT skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
Qualifications
Essential:
- Building-related degree or equivalent
Desirable:
- Professional membership (MCIOB, MRICS, MICE or equivalent)
- Project Management qualification
