Job Purpose
To carry out plumbing and multi-trade maintenance works within occupied and void social housing properties, responding to reactive repair requests in a timely and professional manner. The role involves delivering high-quality workmanship while ensuring tenant satisfaction and compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend and complete reactive maintenance repairs across social housing properties
- Carry out a wide range of plumbing works, including:
- Leak detection and repair
- Tap, toilet, and shower repairs/replacements
- Pipework installation and maintenance
- Unblocking sinks, baths, and drainage systems
- Basic carpentry (door repairs, boxing-in)
- Minor tiling and patch plastering
- Basic painting and decorating after repairs
- Diagnose faults and identify the most effective repair solutions
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Plumbing (or proven experience)
- Experience working in social housing or domestic maintenance
- Strong multi-trade skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
- Good communication and customer service skills
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday (typically 8:00am – 5:00pm)
- Overtime and call-out rota may be required
