Are you a strategic, commercially minded leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment? This is an opportunity to take full ownership of a high-performing repairs and maintenance service, driving operational excellence, commercial success, and outstanding customer experience. As Contract Manager, you will lead the end-to-end performance of the service, ensuring delivery against KPIs, compliance standards, financial targets, and long-term strategic goals. You’ll shape the operational strategy, inspire multi-disciplinary teams, and champion continuous improvement and innovation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operational Leadership
- Provide clear strategic direction to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.
- Set operational priorities, performance targets, and workstream strategies.
- Lead resource planning, recruitment, supply chain management, and subcontractor strategy.
- Oversee integration of new technologies, process improvements, and service transformation initiatives.
- Maintain accountability for achieving all KPIs and ensuring consistent use of digital reporting platforms.
- Review daily/weekly operational performance including WIP, backlog, jeopardy, follow-ons, voids, and urgent works.
- Lead regular performance meetings, presenting operational, financial, and risk updates.
- Ensure robust adherence to RAMS, training requirements, accreditations, and quality assurance processes.
- Sign off key operational documentation including risk registers, improvement plans, and technical guidance.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, system utilisation, and reporting across the team.
- Hold full responsibility for the P&L, ensuring profitability and strong financial governance.
- Drive commercial awareness across operational teams, ensuring correct SOR usage and variation control.
- Work closely with Finance and Commercial teams to forecast revenue, manage costs, and track material budgets.
- Lead subcontractor onboarding, performance management, audit checks, and commercial governance.
About You
You’re a results-driven leader with a strong background in contract or operations management within repairs and maintenance. You combine commercial acumen with a commitment to delivering excellent service and building trusted relationships. You will bring:
- Proven experience managing contracts with complex KPI frameworks.
- Strong understanding of building maintenance, repair methodologies, and trade practices.
- A relevant qualification or recognised training within the property repairs and maintenance sector.
- Solid knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across varied workstreams.
- Familiarity with NHF SOR codes and other pricing models.
- Demonstrable ability to build strong senior-level stakeholder relationships.
