We are looking for a GP to join our team. We are lucky to have two of the newest buildings in the area to work in, making our working environment very modern. Our second building was opened in January this year. We are proud to be one of the largest practices with over 24,000 patients and growing.

We are aware that being a larger organisation can present teamwork challenges and are therefore focused on staff wellbeing to ensure we operate as one team. We take time out for coffee breaks every day and hold two clinical meetings per week to encourage our clinicians to collaborate and support each other. We have a social committee with allocated funds and a wellbeing committee with dedicated funds to improve our working environment.

With this population size, we are able to offer GPs a choice of specialist interests and we allocate a personal assistant to each GP to minimise administrative work and focus on looking after patients. The clinical team currently consists of GPs, ANPs, Nurse Prescribers, Practice Nurses, Mental Health Nurse, Mental Health Support Workers, HCAs, Pharmacists, and Physiotherapists.

We are also very keen on teaching: We have GP Fellows, a GP trainer, and GP Teachers looking after 3rd, 4th, and 5th Medical Students from the local University, as well as 5th year student placements from UCL in London. We also train nurses at different levels.

Main duties of the job: We are looking for a champion of continuity who treats patients both as people and as a population.

About us: Our core values are centred around Continuity, which we believe is the cornerstone of Primary Care. We support Continuity every day with our values: Respect, Teamwork, and Confidentiality. We were recently voted in the top three of best practices by patients in BNSSG.

Job responsibilities: The post-holder will manage a patient caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients. Responsibilities will reflect requirements of the NHS GP Contracts and may be subject to change as services adapt. You will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the diverse practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract and GMC standards for good medical practice.

Person Specification:

  • Experience working with EMIS
  • Using applications: DOCMAN, Accurx, and askmyGP

Qualifications: As a fully qualified GP, we expect you to have the following skills:

  • The ability to work as part of a large team
  • The willingness and ability to handle uncertainty and conflicting demands
  • The ability to stay calm while working under pressure
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • A specialist interest

Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
