We are excited to be recruiting into our Yate based Woodleaze Team. Woodleaze is a purpose built, high specification accommodation service supporting up to 18 young people aged 16-25. The waking night shifts run from 9:30pm until 7:30am on a fixed repeating rota of 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off.

Who are we? We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. At 1625 we are driven by Social Justice and Passion: we strive to do something that matters and take pride in seeing the results of our work in social outcomes and improving young people’s lives.

How we work: At 1625 our work is rooted in Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and Trauma-Informed Practice (TIP). Our Psychologically Informed Framework shapes how we build relationships, use our spaces, and support young people. This means we prioritise safety, trust, collaboration, and understanding the impact of trauma in every interaction. You don’t need prior experience in PIE or TIP to apply - we’ll support you to learn and develop these approaches in the role.

What you will be doing:

  • Creating a safe and welcoming environment for the young people we support.
  • Being available throughout the night to support them.
  • Being vigilant to ensure the security of the building when on shift, including responding appropriately to any unacceptable or challenging behaviour.
  • Being well organised, efficient, and effective, ensuring accurate and timely communication and record keeping, including reporting repairs and health and safety concerns.
  • Supporting a range of young people, including under 18’s who may be Ofsted in-scope to be safe, secure and thrive.
  • Working waking nights on a four on four off fixed rota pattern.

You will be in the Woodleaze team, and your line manager will be our Woodleaze Manager.

Contract details:

  • Hours per week: 36 (this represents 0.9 FTE)
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Pay: £29,071 - £30,515 (pro rata based on 0.9 FTE)

The location: You will be based in Woodleaze in Yate, with free and ample parking and within walking distance of the train station and multiple bus stops with good transport links.
