The Role and What You’ll Do: The Associate Director will play a critical leadership role in a 160over90 team working for a major client on their Global Partnerships portfolio. This role will take an elevated position in leading the racing (motorsport & watersport) portfolio globally from a PR and Communications perspective, while providing strategic oversight and guidance to the other portfolio leads across Golf, Cricket, and additional regionally focused properties. The Associate Director will be responsible for driving excellence in PR and Communications strategy, maintaining high-level relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring seamless integration across the client’s broader partnership initiatives.
- Collaborate within an integrated client team including Partnerships, Operations, Creative, and Strategy, spanning 160over90’s global footprint.
- Lead the development and execution of PR and Communications strategies for the client’s racing portfolio, ensuring global consistency and impact.
- Provide senior-level oversight of other sports portfolios, ensuring alignment across PR and Communications initiatives.
- Work closely with the client’s in-house communications teams and global agency network to ensure integrated messaging and media strategies.
- Develop master partnership positioning and narratives with specific variations for consumer-facing campaigns.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key rights holders, ambassadors, and stakeholders across the client’s motorsport partnerships.
- Create and oversee activation platforms, content strategies, and media amplification plans, ensuring optimal use of available assets.
- Lead the ideation and development of consumer-facing content, managing best-in-class specialist third-party suppliers.
- Serve as a key liaison for all communications requests from the client, efficiently channeling through appropriate rights holders and ambassadors.
- Take a senior leadership role in on-site communications teams, providing strategic media management and amplification support at key events.
- Guide internal communications strategies to support employee engagement and advocacy of the client’s sport partnerships.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level PR professionals, ensuring continuous professional growth and high performance.
- Serve as a key decision-maker within the PR and Communications function, ensuring alignment with the broader agency vision and client objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership within 160over90 and the client’s team to drive long-term strategic planning.
- Support the London leadership team in broader business initiatives, including new business development and strategic planning.
You Have These:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) and/or significant experience in PR and Communications within the motorsport landscape.
- Proven track record of leading PR strategies for major sports partnerships, particularly in Formula 1, Motorsport, Sailing.
- Extensive experience working with global rights holders, ambassadors, and stakeholders within motorsport.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the motorsport industry, with an understanding of its media landscape and sponsorship ecosystem.
