The Role and What You’ll Do:
This Director role involves client leadership within a dedicated agency team managing day-to-day partnership activations of a client’s global sports sponsorship portfolio, including NFL, Tennis, Music, and Formula One. The primary focus will be on managing and delivering oversight of the client’s Formula One team partnership. The Director will lead client relationships and oversee an integrated Partnerships and Communications team based in London, collaborating with teams in the US/Canada, APAC, EMEA, and CALA regions.
Client-Servicing
- Build strong, trusted, and lasting relationships with client counterparts.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, understanding, and empathy for client requirements; respond with effective solutions.
- Lead planning and delivery of activations and initiatives in F1.
- Coordinate with client and continent teams to ensure global sports partnership activations are consistent and efficient.
Partnership Management
- Maintain relationships with rights holders, ambassadors, and stakeholders in the Formula One partnership.
- Understand partnership contracts and rights packages; ensure assets are managed to maximize value.
- Manage budgets accurately, including forecasting and tracking.
Campaign/Activation Management
- Lead planning, project management, client communication, delivery, budgeting, and reporting.
- Leverage PR and communications expertise to amplify campaign messaging.
- Collaborate with Strategy and Creative teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
Business/Industry Knowledge
- Quickly absorb and understand client business, category, and challenges.
- Understand the relevance of sports and partnerships on business.
- Stay informed about sports landscapes, especially Formula One, and communicate insights effectively.
- Manage teams across multiple disciplines.
You Have These:
- At least 15 years of agency or client-side sponsorship account management experience, including sponsorship marketing, event marketing, or sponsor servicing.
- Experience with global property activation in Formula One.
- Knowledge of sports, sports media, and sports marketing/sponsorship.
- Proven ability to develop and implement sponsorship strategies.
- Experience managing relationships with clients, agencies, and vendors.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and on-site event logistics.
- Excellent client relationship skills and strategic thinking.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
