Role- Welder (sheet Metal) Location – Hope Valley 12 Month Contract, Starting ASAP Salary Negotiable depending upon experience We are working with a company specialising in the production of Sheet metal products. Primary responsibilities: Weld and fabricate a variety of bespoke components using stainless steel, nickel alloys and mild steel materials, gauge of sheet metal generally between 0.9mm & 6mm thickness. Weld and fabricate frameworks from mild steel rolled, stainless steel, hollow section and angle iron to a high standard. Read engineering drawings and translate that into an end product with minimum supervision. Achieve a high standard of finish/tolerance on bespoke fabricated products. Complete problem logs regarding issues with drawings and materials. Carry out site work when necessary. Key skills and qualifications: Apprentice trained (City and Guilds or NVQ equivalent in fabrication and welding) and/or time served fabricator/welder. Previous experience in the welding and fabrication of bespoke products, including sheet metal, working within a light / medium fabrication working environment. Good MIG, TIG and spot-welding skills are essential, the interview will include a weld test. Have good calculation skills and have the ability to work to fine tolerances. Capable of working on their own initiative and as part of a team. Highly motivated with a team orientated work style Accuracy and attention to detail. Willingness to travel if required
