The team at 1508 specializes in crafting exceptional spaces worldwide. Drawing inspiration from history, geography, architecture and cultural narratives, our work is defined by timeless design, craftsmanship and enduring value. We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Architect or Architectural Assistant Part II to join our London studio and support the design and delivery of our world-class hospitality, residential and mixed-use projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the successful delivery of architectural and interior architecture projects across all RIBA Work Stages, from concept design through to construction and completion.
- Assist in the development of creative architectural concepts and technical design solutions that align with the project vision and design direction established by senior team members.
- Produce high-quality architectural documentation, including plans, elevations, section drawings, schedules, presentation materials, sketch visuals, and technical packages.
- Support project coordination and delivery, managing assigned tasks, maintaining drawing registers and ensuring project deadlines are met.
- Assist with project coordination, liaising with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and specialist manufacturers to support project delivery.
- Participate in design reviews, workshops, and client presentations, contributing ideas and research to inform design development.
- Attend site visits, consultant and contractor meetings, assist with site coordination and the resolution of design and construction queries.
- Undertake architectural research relating to materials, construction methods, building regulations and emerging industry trends.
- Collaborate effectively within studio teams, sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and contributing positively to the studio culture.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and initiative, managing personal workload effectively, adhering to studio procedures, and maintaining high standards of attendance and performance.
REQUIREMENTS
- Part II or Part III qualification in Architecture (or equivalent recognised architectural qualification).
- 3–5 years’ relevant professional experience within an architecture, interior architecture, or multidisciplinary design practice.
- Experience working on high-end residential, hospitality, mixed-use or luxury projects is advantageous.
- Strong design, visual communication, and presentation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and Microsoft Office; experience with Revit is advantageous.
- Experience producing drawing packages and coordinating design information across project stages.
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning processes, and the RIBA Plan of Work.
- Positive, proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced design environment.
- Passion for architecture, design excellence, and the creation of exceptional client experiences.
