We are an established SME manufacturing business, part of a wider group, supplying industrial process equipment into demanding industrial markets. Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced Sales Manager to drive both account development and new business. This is a hands-on, hybrid role combining strategic sales leadership with direct customer engagement.
The Role
- You will be responsible for managing key accounts while actively developing new business opportunities across core industrial sectors.
- The role involves regular customer visits, tendering activity, and close collaboration with internal engineering and commercial teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and growing key customer accounts
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities
- Leading and contributing to large, complex tenders
- Visiting customers on-site to understand applications and commercial drivers
- Spotting and developing commercial opportunities within existing accounts
- Selling solutions into Oil & Gas, EPC contractors, Process and Chemical industries
- Working closely with engineering, operations, and senior management
- Representing the business professionally at customer meetings and industry events
About You
You will be a commercially driven sales professional with a strong technical or industrial background. You will ideally have:
- Proven experience selling industrial or process equipment
- Strong tendering and bid management experience
- Background in account management and new business development
- Experience selling into Oil & Gas, EPC, Process, or Chemical sectors
- A hands-on approach – comfortable being out with customers as well as managing internally
- Strong commercial awareness and opportunity-spotting skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
