This is a critical hire for the business — a role that will directly shape production performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. As a Setter in the mouldshop, you’ll be at the heart of operations, ensuring that processes run smoothly, safely, and to the highest standards. Your expertise will make a tangible impact on quality, cost, and delivery outcomes.
The Role
- Set up and optimise injection moulding tools and ancillary equipment in line with master settings
- Plan and prepare upcoming production jobs to streamline changeovers
- Conduct tool changes and handovers with Quality Technicians, Supervisors, and Operators
- Troubleshoot process issues using structured problem‑solving and root cause analysis
- Capture and share technical knowledge to standardise best practices across the team
- Support new product introduction (NPI) trials and development activities
- Maintain accurate production records and ensure processes remain in control
- Contribute to continuous improvement in cost, quality, and performance
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in injection moulding, engineering, or manufacturing
- Completed apprenticeship and advanced injection moulding/process technician training
- Strong knowledge of injection moulding machines, ancillary equipment, and materials processing
- Experience in scientific moulding/DOE and problem‑solving techniques
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a structured approach to corrective actions
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Previous experience in an injection moulding environment
- Knowledge of gate freeze studies, residence time calculations, and clamp tonnage projection
- Familiarity with injection mould tooling and manual handling practices
