Be the Connection. Build the Relationships.
Our client is introducing a brand new Customer Engagement Specialist role — someone who will sit at the heart of their business, supporting both long-standing customers and new partners, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. If you enjoy being the go-to person, building trusted relationships over time and keeping everyone aligned, this could be a genuinely rewarding opportunity. This isn’t a scripted customer service role. It’s about real conversations, proactive communication, problem solving and turning first orders into long-term partnerships.
About the Business
This is an established SME manufacturing business with over 100 years of heritage, specialising in engineered sealing solutions. Their products support demanding sectors including aerospace, defence, MRO and power generation — where quality and reliability matter. They are proud of their technical capability — but customer relationships matter just as much.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the full customer journey — from onboarding through to retention — ensuring a consistent, professional and proactive experience at every stage. Working closely with sales, production and operations, you’ll act as the voice of the customer internally while keeping customers clearly informed externally. You’ll be the steady link between teams. The organiser. The relationship builder.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer onboarding from first order to delivery
- Provide clear, proactive updates on order status and timelines
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key customers
- Act as primary contact for queries and escalations
- Coordinate quotations, order confirmations and documentation
- Attend daily production meetings to stay aligned on delivery schedules
- Communicate delays or changes promptly and professionally
- Identify opportunities to improve the overall customer experience
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
- Background in a customer-facing role (Customer Relations, Customer Success, Account Management or similar)
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confident written and verbal communicator
- Comfortable working cross-functionally
Personal Attributes (Most Important):
- Relationship-driven and personable
- Proactive and solutions-focused
- Calm under pressure
- High level of ownership and accountability
Technical or engineering knowledge would be an advantage, particularly in manufacturing — but it isn’t essential. We can teach the products. We’re looking for the right mindset and personality.
What We Offer
- A visible, influential role within a respected heritage business
- Real impact on customer experience and retention
- A collaborative SME environment where ideas are valued
- The opportunity to shape and develop a brand new position
If you enjoy building strong working relationships, solving problems and being someone customers genuinely value, we’d love to hear from you.
