About the company
This is a perfect opportunity for either a recent food science or nutrition graduate or someone experienced in a Quality department that's ready for a fresh challenge. With a team that’s doubled in size in the past 5 years, an expanding customer base both in the UK and overseas, as well as some big new projects in the pipeline, this is an exciting time.
About the role
We’re looking for a motivated graduate to join our client's Quality team in a hands-on role with real scope to grow. This position is ideal for someone at the start of their career who wants more than a box-ticking QA admin job and is keen to develop long-term within food manufacturing, but it could equally appeal to someone with 5, 10 or 20 years experience that's looking for a supportive environment and a job for life! You’ll be supported by an experienced and highly practical manager, before having the opportunity to progress, if you're ambitious and want to take on more responsibility. But if you don't, it won't be forced upon you.
Who we're looking for
This role is as much about attitude and potential as it is about qualifications. We’re keen to hear from you if you are:
- EITHER a graduate in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related food-scientific discipline OR someone with Quality experience gained in the food industry
- A confident communicator with strong attention to detail
- Organised and able to manage your workload independently
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit team
- Assertive in a positive, constructive way when required
- NOT requiring Visa sponsorship either now or in the future - this is a client that cannot offer sponsorship
Key responsibilities
Initially, the role will focus on QA administration and site-based quality activities, including:
- Carrying out quality checks within production
- Completing site hygiene audits
- Sending laboratory samples and reporting results
- Preparing and typing Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
- Supporting compliance and documentation processes
- Communicating professionally with suppliers and customers
Team & culture
You’ll report directly to an experienced manager who is known for their hands-on training and support and you'll be working closely with the production team. A good attitude, personality, and willingness to learn will be highly valued. The right mindset and commitment will be rewarded.
Salary & Benefits
£28,000 for a graduate or up to £32,000 for an experienced applicant. Early finish every Friday at 3:30pm. Annual bonus scheme. Holiday entitlement increases. A driving licence is highly recommended, as public transport options to site can be limited.
