About the role: We are looking for a personal assistant to support our beautiful 5‑year‑old daughter, Maryam. We need someone who can work alongside us as an extra pair of hands when we are out on social outings, allowing us to take all three of our children and keep them all safe.

About Maryam: Maryam is a beautiful 5‑year‑old girl who lives at home with her parents and two sisters, ages 8 and 10. She loves to visit quiet environments such as the park, swimming at the Alan Shearer Centre, and generally being outdoors. At home she enjoys activities such as painting, reading books, playing with her teddies, water play, and playing with playdough. Maryam is autistic, has a sensory disorder, uses PICCA, and is nonverbal. She has no safety awareness, so the assistant must be vigilant about her surroundings and keep her safe at all times.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4. A DBS check is required for this role and any offer of employment will be conditional upon satisfactory references and DBS. This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed. At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate(s) must have permission to work in the U.K.
