Driver with own vehicle essential

About me

Hi! I’m Kate but everyone calls me Turtle. I live with my wife and my lovely cat Roy Rogers. I am a full time carer for my wife and a burgeoning new artist. I’m looking for help to get out of the house and progress in my career and life goals. I am autistic, ADHD and agoraphobic and struggle with chronic pain but I have a zest for life. If you want to work together as a partner to build community and connection with a focus on art and progressive ideas this is the job for you!

Essential qualities

  • Interest and enjoyment of art
  • Understanding of ADHD and Autism
  • Own a driver’s licence and car
  • Knowledgeable and accepting of the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Attentive listener
  • Ability to ask questions in a non-judgmental, curious way

Things that would be amazing

  • Knowledgeable of the art world and/or being a professional artist beneficial but not essential as long as you are willing to learn
  • Love of all sorts of animals very beneficial but willingness to be around cats and dogs essential
  • Interest in similar hobbies – DND, gaming, film, tv, politics, music

Duties

  • Assistance accessing the community: my main struggle is I need to be accompanied when going out of the house due to agoraphobia and autism. You would be accompanying me on various outings from going to the shops to art galleries and appointments.
  • Form filling and admin work: I have great difficulty with paperwork and filling out forms but this is a large part of a professional artist’s life so ability to assist with these is essential.
  • Organisational ability: I have a great deal of difficulty with systematisation and keeping things organised so your duties will include helping me to create new systems and maintain my current ones.
  • Psychological support: assisting in preventing and managing meltdowns, this often involves listening to my info-dumps and asking insightful questions during a meltdown to help me out of logic loops. I also require prompting for daily care tasks like eating, drinking, and going to the toilet.

In conclusion, if you’re looking to work in a supportive welcoming environment and bring your kindness and curiosity with you please reach out. Let’s see if we’re a good fit for each other. This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed. At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
