We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to provide support and companionship for our son, a well-behaved 13-year-old boy with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). He loves the beach, enjoys a calm and quiet environment, and is an excellent listener. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to help build confidence and develop new skills.
About the Individual
He loves the beach, displays a gentle and composed personality. He does not like crowded areas and prefers quiet, less crowded environments. Your role would be to build confidence actively working on his confidence by visiting shops and engaging in sports and swimming.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and companionship for a 13-year-old boy with ASD.
- Visit shops and engage in sports and swimming activities to help build confidence.
- Maintain a calm and quiet environment, respecting the individual's preference for less crowded areas.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Driver preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience is desirable although not essential.
- This post is subject to references and satisfactory DBS checks.
- There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
