Job Overview
Personal Assistant to support a 10‑year‑old daughter, Erin, who has Phelan‑McDermid syndrome and is non‑verbal.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily activities, including taking Erin to the Tim Lamb and Alan Shearer centre and other appropriate outings.
- Support potential future activities such as horse riding.
- Ensure Erin’s safety at all times and remain vigilant due to her limited awareness of danger.
- Assist with wheelchair transport and push the wheelchair when required.
- Learn and apply effective communication methods as instructed by the mother.
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence, with a clean record.
- Female applicant, in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and Equality Act 2010.
- Physically able to push a wheelchair.
- Willingness and ability to learn the child’s communication style.
- Permission to work in the UK at the time of employment.
