Job Summary

Salary Job to be posted prior to leaver. Salary 45-50k with overtime. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Backshift Chargehand Fitter to join our Engineering Team at our Slatyford Depot in Newcastle upon Tyne. At Stagecoach North East we operate over 400 vehicles, which connect our passengers across Tyne and Wear and Teesside with our engineering teams playing a fundamental role in ensuring our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. Our depot at Slatyford is a purpose-built facility and we operate 90 buses from there. The successful candidate will play a key role within our maintenance team to ensure our vehicles are maintained and repaired, so they remain available, roadworthy and reliable for our customers at all times.

Shift Pattern and Hours

This is a shift-based role, with shifts working on an 8 on, 6 off rota (4 days per week) which will be discussed at interview.

Qualifications and Experience

NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject is essential. A PCV licence is preferred but not essential as training will be provided as required.

Experience: Engineering: 1 year (required).

Licence/Certification: NVQ level 3 Engineering (PCV, HGV).

Salary and Contract

Salary: Potential to earn £45 - 50k per year with some overtime working.
