As a Senior Major Incident Manager, you will be at the forefront of managing and resolving major incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to our clients. Your day-to-day activities will involve leading a team of Major Incident Managers, driving the efficiency of our processes, and acting as a key escalation point for clients. You will also have the opportunity to deputise for the Problem and Major Incident Management Lead, providing you with a platform to showcase your leadership skills.
Your main duties will include:
- Leadership and Management: Oversee and guide Major Incident Managers, ensuring they follow best practices and processes.
- Process Improvement: Continuously monitor and enhance the effectiveness of our major incident management processes.
- Client Interaction: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients during major incidents, providing timely and accurate updates.
- Reporting and Analysis: Produce detailed reports on major incidents, including performance KPIs and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, third-party vendors, and clients to ensure seamless incident resolution.
- On-Call Support: Participate in a rota to provide out-of-hours support, ensuring 24/7 coverage for our clients.
We are seeking a proactive and resilient individual with a strong background in major incident management. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience: Significant experience within a Major Incident Management role, preferably in a managed services environment.
- Qualifications: ITIL Foundation certification (or equivalent) is essential; additional certifications like ITIL Intermediate, SIAM Foundation, or Lean Six Sigma are desirable.
- Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to explain complex technical issues in layman's terms.
- Attributes: A calm demeanour under pressure, a logical approach to challenges, and the ability to build trust and confidence with clients and team members.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rota.
